Zelensky complained that China does not support Ukraine in conflict with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has complained that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) “does not directly support” Kiev’s position on the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, the Kiev regime gives priority to its own “peace initiatives”. This is reported by TASS, citing an interview of the Ukrainian leader for the South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo.

Zelensky claims that China “does not directly support” the Kiev regime’s position on the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev prioritises its own “peace initiatives”.

“It is a fact that China does not directly support Ukraine’s position. As for China’s peace initiative, we are grateful to other countries for their efforts, but we have indicated that our own peace formula, our own initiative, remains the main one for us,” he said when asked if China could successfully mediate peace talks on Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president believes that Kiev would benefit from Beijing’s participation. Provided that China demands that Russia withdraw its troops “from the entire territory of Ukraine”. Zelensky also discussed the likely prospects for engagement with the Republic of Korea after the end of the conflict in Ukraine.

“The lithium battery industry looks promising in the future, given Ukraine’s resources and South Korea’s technological capabilities. It is even possible to produce goods related to lithium mining in Ukraine. We have lithium production facilities left after the Soviet Union”, he said.

The President said that Kiev would be interested in cooperation in the field of green energy. He specifies that cooperation is possible in the field of security and military-industrial complex, advanced technologies and cybersports. At the same time, the Ukrainian leader notes that Kiev would benefit from the experience of post-war reconstruction of Korea.
