Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has said the United States is seeking to do everything to destroy Russia’s economy and sovereignty.
He said this during a plenary session.
“The United States of America, having become the monopoly rulers of the world, is doing everything to destroy our economy… sovereignty. We must understand this,” he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
To this end, he said, the US authorities are using intimidation and new technologies. He added that “the enemy wants to sow fear, panic”.
Volodin stressed that Russia needs “a strong rear, the support of society, of the country” in order to win.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that Washington wanted to protract the conflict in Ukraine as long as possible and make it even bloodier.
