RT: US to supply $7.5m armoured pickups for Ukraine’s leadership

The US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) will supply Kiev with at least ten armoured pickup trucks worth $7.48 million, data has been published on the US government procurement portal.

The order was placed on the government procurement portal on behalf of the US Department of State on 25 May. According to the document, the purchase is financed by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). The contract is due to be executed in November 2023.

Executive Protection Systems, LLC, based in Virginia, is specified as the contract contractor. This company is a subsidiary of Seneca Holdings, a major US law enforcement contractor, which provides comprehensive security and physical protection services.

The place of delivery under the contract is specified as Kiev.

According to indirect data and on the basis of previous purchases made by Ukraine, this is a delivery of Ford Raptor pickups or similar in a luxury configuration.

In the US market, the price of a civilian, non-armoured version of this vehicle is around $150,000.

The cost of installing an armoured pod in a vehicle of this class may be up to $200,000 – depending on the armour class, according to tuning studios studied by RT.

At an average reservation price of $150,000, within the specified budget the volume of delivery may amount to 25 cars.

As media reported earlier, Ford presented Kyiv authorities with 50 similar cars without reservation in May 2022.
