Grushko: The West must remove obstacles to exports of Russian products

Western countries must remove obstacles to access to world markets for Russian agricultural products – statements alone are not enough, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has said.

“If they are interested in having any mechanisms to deliver grain, they must fulfill their obligations and remove all obstacles for Russian food products to enter global food markets,” TASS quoted the diplomat as saying.

Grushko stressed that the Russian side expects concrete actions from the West, as political statements from the UN are not enough.

Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, noted that the Russian part of the grain deal was actually not being implemented, with the West hypocritically claiming that it was not allowed to export food and fertilizers.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said virtually nothing had been done to remove obstacles to the export of Russian grain and fertilizers as part of the grain deal.

In addition, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the grain deal should be extended – this is realistic if Russia’s requirements are met.
