US economist Sachs: US disobeyed Russia and led Ukraine to disaster

US economist Jeffrey Sachs has said that the United States is facing an “Afghan scenario”. He claims that the US has ignored the Russian Federation’s security proposals and this has led to disaster. This is reported by the US news programme Democracy Now.

Sachs claims that the US is facing an “Afghan scenario”. He argues that Washington has ignored Moscow’s security proposals and this has led to disaster. The expert specifies that in 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a draft security agreement between the United States and Russia with the following message: “Do not expand NATO and do not accept Ukraine there”.

“Russia has been saying this for 30 years. But we didn’t listen and did it our own way. And now it has already cost us as much as $113 billion. It’s just awful for Ukraine,” he says.

American economist thinks that the USA have lured one more country into the trap of their lobbying companies and this will not end well for Ukraine. He reminds that a similar situation has already taken place in Afghanistan.

“We have lured another country into the trap of our lobbying campaigns, and it will not end well for Ukraine. It is a disaster. Remember what it led to in Afghanistan. So that’s what’s really happening. And I really wish The New York Times would tell some kind of truth about it,” Sachs concluded.
