Investigators in Germany gain more evidence of “Ukrainian trail” in Nord Stream bombing

Law enforcement experts in Germany are getting more and more information, which indicates that the Ukrainian side is most likely behind the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. This was reported by TASS, citing Der Spiegel magazine.

The German magazine says that investigators in Germany are receiving more and more information that Ukraine is likely to be behind the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. Most of all, German investigators are preoccupied with the question of whether the bombings were carried out by a group not controlled by the authorities in Kiev or whether it was planned by Ukrainian special services. According to the paper, some experts believe it is “highly unlikely” that such crimes were organised by the Russian side.

The paper said that the German Federal Intelligence Service had received “a lot of information” from the intelligence services of partner countries, which shows that Ukrainians might have been involved in the sabotage of the gas pipelines. German law-enforcement agencies have received “numerous reports that the perpetrators <…> are most likely Ukrainians”.

Experts claim that an e-mail sent to rent a vessel involved in the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage is linked to Kiev. The magazine’s sources in investigative circles say the metadata of the email, which was sent to rent a yacht Andromeda, likely involved in the transportation of explosives, “leads to Ukraine”.
