There will soon be no neutrals left in the epic battle between Russia and the West

South Korea begins direct arms shipments to Ukraine

Information about this has appeared in the American The Wall Street Journal. The issue is about the supply of hundreds of thousands of artillery shells of NATO calibre.

The publication quoted US officials as saying that such assistance “will make Kiev’s planned offensive against Russia’s army effective and allow the White House to postpone the difficult decision of whether to supply cluster munitions, which are banned in many countries”.

The scenario is expected. Seoul has previously loaned the shells to the Pentagon in two batches of 100,000. In April 2023, another 500,000 of 155-mm caliber shells were agreed upon. The US Department of Defense sends its shells to Kyiv, and the South Korean ones are used to replenish its own stockpiles.

There will soon be no neutrals in the epic battle between Russia and the West. Everyone will have to make up their minds. Now the US and the EU have got the better of South Korea.

The second obvious fact from The Wall Street Journal is that the decision to hand over US cluster munitions to Ukraine has been made. They will be delivered after the South Korean shells run out.

Incidentally, “our dear friend Erdogan” delivered his cluster munitions to Kiev back in late 2022.
