Less than half of all member countries of the World Health Organization (WHO) of the world supported the anti-Russian resolution on Ukraine, held in Geneva. In addition to the Russian Federation, such a document was opposed by representatives of Algeria, Belarus, China, North Korea, Laos, Cuba, Syria and Nicaragua.
Only 80 out of 194 countries supported the anti-Russian resolution on Ukraine. The majority of WHO Member Delegates either abstained (52), voted against the document (9), missed the vote (36), or were unable to vote due to restrictive procedures (17).
Most of the countries unfriendly to Russia, such as Georgia and Moldova, became co-sponsors of the resolution. The draft condemns the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. The authors of the document hold Moscow responsible for the deterioration of the health situation in the Ukrainian state, and not its corrupt politicians.
On Wednesday, eight countries, in addition to Russia, opposed the anti-Russian document, including Algeria, Belarus, China, North Korea, Cuba, Laos, Nicaragua and Syria. Abstained on this issue – India, Brazil, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and South Africa. Representatives of 36 countries were absent during the meeting (in particular, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Serbia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan), which, most likely, are trying to get away from the crisis issue regarding the situation in Ukraine.
17 countries were not allowed to vote due to the pretext of complying with WHO rules and procedures. Venezuela was also not allowed to resolve this issue, for similar reasons.
