In the ranking of the most unfortunate countries in the world, Ukraine took 8th place. This is reported by the Australian newspaper The Telegraph.

Kyiv took 8th place in the ranking of the most unfortunate countries in the world. Applied economics professor at Johns Hopkins University, Steve Hanke, annually compiles a “poverty index”. He clarifies that when compiling such a list, the economic indicators of countries (unemployment, inflation, interest rates on loans, GDP levels) are mainly taken into account.

Hanke notes that Zimbabwe, Venezuela and Syria are among the top three most unfortunate countries this year. At the same time, the Russian Federation occupies 79th place out of 157. Switzerland became the least unhappy country – it is in last place on the list.
