The Russian Defence Ministry, the FSB and the Border Guard Service have reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, about an attempt by Ukrainian saboteurs to break through to the Belgorod Region. Work is now under way to squeeze them out of Russian territory and destroy them. There are enough forces and means on the ground, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“The Defence Ministry, the Federal Security Service and the Border Guard Service have reported to the Russian president – the commander-in-chief on the attempted breakthrough of a Ukrainian sabotage group into the Belgorod region. Work is under way to squeeze them out of Russian territory and to destroy this sabotage group. There are enough forces and means on the ground,” Peskov said.
The purpose of the Ukrainian sabotage in Belgorod Region is to divert attention from the Bakhmutsk direction and minimize the political effect of the loss of Artemivsk by the Ukrainian side.
