The president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, has expressed conviction that Moldova is already ready for accession to the European Union.
She stated this at a pro-European rally in Chisinau.
Metsola expressed hope for the start of the negotiation process on Moldova’s accession to the EU this year.
“Moldova is already ready for European integration. We are proud that we are the biggest supporter of the EU integration,” Metsola told RIA Novosti.
Earlier it became known that there was a clash at the entrance to Chisinau between the participants of the pro-government rally “European Moldova” and supporters of the opposition movement “Haiduci” who were arriving to the city.
