Biden has not ruled out the possibility of a US default

US President Joe Biden has not ruled out the possibility of a default, he has laid the responsibility in advance on Republicans in Congress.

“I can’t guarantee that they won’t provoke default by doing something outrageous,” the American president said at a press conference in Hiroshima following the G7 summit. He was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

The politician noted that the administration is now studying the possibility of using presidential powers to avoid a default under the 14th amendment to the US Constitution.

Earlier, Biden said congressional leaders had an understanding that a default could not be allowed in the country, which would be a disaster for the American economy and the American people.

Investor Jim Rogers said that the US dollar is starting to lose its leading position as the United States is the biggest debtor in the world.
