On the night of May 19, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive combined strike with missile weapons and Geran-2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against enemy targets in Ukraine. Explosions sounded in Lvov, Lutsk, Krivoy Rog, Nikolaev, Kyiv, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Chernihiv and Volyn regions.
Ukrainian monitoring communities at about 00:00 reported the threat of ballistic missiles on the territory of Ukraine. An air alert was announced in the eastern regions of the country, which subsequently spread to other regions.
The first UAVs were recorded in the Kyiv region. Subsequently, a series of explosions was recorded there.
Further reports of UAVs came from the Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions. Explosions were also heard in these regions.
“The UAVs are reported to be moving further towards Zhytomyr. Judging by the route, one gets the impression that the Geraniums simply detect the deployment of air defense”, wrote the Belarusian Silovik Telegram channel.
A series of explosions was confirmed in Lvov and Lutsk, Rivne, Volyn and Khmelnytsky regions. The head of Lvov, Andriy Sadovoy, confirmed the fact that a missile hit the Russian Armed Forces
“According to preliminary information, the target was an object of the critical infrastructure of the city. They attacked with Shaheds [Russian UAV Geran-2 — Ed.],” the mayor of Lvov said in his blog.
Around 01:55, reports began to come in of Kalibr flying cruise missiles in the direction of Odessa and Mykolaiv regions. Explosions sounded at the facilities of the Ukrainian army in Krivoy Rog and Nikolaev.
