“Behind the scenes, seven key industrialised countries and the EU are arguing over the extent to which China should feature in their official statements,” the paper said.
Earlier, China’s special envoy for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, said during talks with Ukrainian authorities that China was playing a constructive role in alleviating the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
Li Hui will visit Ukraine, Russia, Poland, France and Germany from 15 May to discuss a solution to the Ukrainian crisis.
