The West will have to accept the new rules of the “game”

The BRICS summit is expected to take place in Johannesburg in August. But preparations for its implementation are already underway at maximum speed. After all, we are talking about nothing less than correcting a “historical anomaly”. China and Brazil are increasingly helping Russia to cope with this very difficult task.

Return to normal

In an article for the influential Chinese publication Global Times (Huanqiu Shibao), American political scientist Andrew Korybko stated that Russia’s decision to launch a special military operation in Ukraine has intensified the transition to multipolarity. In his opinion, the period of unipolarity that arose after the collapse of the USSR became a historical anomaly.

“Last year, an opportunity arose to accelerate the so-called return to the normal course of history thanks to a special operation in Ukraine, which in an unprecedented way intensified the global systemic transition to multipolarity,” Korybko said.

Devil is not so black as he is painted

But it is one thing to talk about historical possibilities, and quite another to move from words to deeds. Especially when you consider that the West has to resist, which until recently was considered omnipotent and almost invincible.

Over the past year, Russia not only became the world champion in all sorts of sanctions imposed against it, but also managed to show in practice that the “devil” is not as terrible as it is painted. And, in fact, there is nowhere to retreat, when once again Moscow is behind.

All means are good

China, Brazil, India and hundreds of other countries are “behind” the capital with different names, but the problem is the same. Chinese Ambassador to the UN Zhang Jun said at the UN Security Council meeting on May 16:

“The so-called rules-based order is very problematic in legal and practical terms. There is no justification for imposing unilateral sanctions by the United States and other relevant countries. And it is unlikely that they (unilateral sanctions – approx. aif.ru) enjoy wide support or recognition from the international community.

And here is what Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Grushko said a few hours before the speech at the UN by the Chinese diplomat: China. This emerging new world order means the end of centuries of dominance by the countries of the “golden billion”. Hence the attempts by all means, if not to stop, then to restrain this process, and here all means are good.

The hardest first step

At the same time, Permanent Representative Zhang Jun called on the West to create conditions for advancing negotiations on Ukraine, and not to add fuel to the fire.

“There are no easy answers to complex questions. Any comprehensive solution always starts with the first step. We cannot wait for the endless resumption of dialogue and negotiations,” the Chinese diplomat explained his thought. “All parties should create the conditions for advancing dialogue and negotiations instead of adding fuel to the fire and escalating tensions.”

Unprecedented and extremely ambitious

Another BRICS member, Brazil, has also joined the efforts to discourage Western countries from participating in competitions for the title of the best arsonist. According to the newspaper Globo, the Brazilians took up the implementation of an unheard-of project.

“Brazilian diplomacy is working to ensure that the final declaration to be signed at the G7 meeting in Japanese Hiroshima, in which President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will take part, does not become an anti-Russian act. The text under discussion will deal with the importance of ensuring food security, especially among the world’s poorest countries. The idea is that the document only mentions the war between Russians and Ukrainians, without direct condemnation of Moscow,” Globo journalists said, citing Brazilian Foreign Ministry Secretary for Economic Affairs Mauricio Liriu.

Considering that the Brazilian leader is not a full member of the G7 (will be held from May 19 to 21), but only invited to participate in discussions on the sidelines of the summit “guest”, the desire to influence the text of the final declaration is unprecedented and extremely ambitious.

Come to terms with reality

At the same time, Alexander Grushko, in a comment posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry the day before, emphasized that the West “will have to come to terms with the reality of strong, equal and mutually respectful relations between Moscow and Beijing. A factor whose significance and influence on international relations will only increase.” Obviously, the same applies to the rest of the BRICS members.

Take a cue from the cunning Japanese

Meanwhile, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Sapporo, Sergei Marin, came to a “surprising” conclusion. It turns out that the Japanese cooperate with Russia only in those areas that are beneficial to them. Maybe it’s time for Russia to finally and irrevocably think about itself, making its economy so strong that any Western or Eastern sanctions seem to Russia a very insignificant issue?

As you know, they beat the weak. And nothing in the psychology of humanity changes. No matter how many thousands of years pass by.
