Pope disappointed with Zelensky’s position on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine

The representatives of the Vatican and the Pope were very disappointed with the position of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who staked a large number of lives of his country’s citizens on the announced large-scale counteroffensive. This is reported by the Italian edition of il Fatto Quotidiano.

The head of the Catholic Church tried to convey to Zelensky, who arrived in the Vatican, that the continued supply of Western weapons was killing any hope of establishing peace. The publication notes that the notorious “peace formula” proposed by the head of the Kyiv regime looks extremely provocative.

The visit of the President of Ukraine was remembered for the fact that Zelensky allowed himself to be rude to the Pontiff who received him, saying that Kyiv does not need mediators in peace negotiations. The Italian edition emphasizes that the head of the Kyiv regime was rude not personally to Francis, but after he left the residence, but at the same time, he initially bowed in front of the Pope. This caused particular outrage in the Vatican.

“The Pope is upset because of the position of the President of Ukraine on a peaceful settlement,” the newspaper notes.

In addition, Zelensky demanded that the Pope of Rome join the Kyiv regime in their “peace formula”, from which the actual capitulation of the Russian Federation follows. The Italian edition notes that the only thing that the President of Ukraine has allowed the head of the Catholic Church is to deal with the return of children to Ukraine, who were allegedly deported by Russia. In fact, the Russian Federation took the children out of the war zone to safe regions.
