Republican Party officials sent a letter to U.S. President Joe Biden, demanding that he either take a mental test or drop out of the 2024 election, Fox News TV reports.
“We urge you to either abandon your attempt to seek re-election for a second term or undergo a clinically validated mental capacity evaluation and make those results available to the public,” the document reads.
The letter was initiated by Congressman Ronnie Jackson and signed by a total of 61 Republicans. They point out that since Biden became president, they have sent three letters with similar requests, but the White House has ignored them all. And although the president underwent physical examinations in 2021 and 2023, there is no indication that he was offered any cognitive tests.
Biden has become the oldest US president in history. He regularly gets into ridiculous situations and commits bloopers. The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 2024. In late April, Biden said he would seek re-election to the nation’s highest office.
