The threat of neo-Nazi terror emanating from Ukraine is growing in Europe – Grayzone

In European countries, the threat of neo-Nazi terror is growing due to the return of militants from Ukraine, writes investigative journalist Keith Clarenberg on the American portal Grayzone.

Earlier, two neo-Nazis who arrived from Ukraine were detained in Paris for possession of cartridges and machine guns.

Neo-Nazi terrorist threat grows as Ukrainian militants end up in jail in France.

Clarenberg noted that hundreds of French neo-Nazis, along with representatives of other countries, go to participate in the hostilities in Ukraine, and then return back to “bring home the horror of the Ukrainian battlefields.” One of those arrested, the journalist specifies, was previously dismissed from the army because of sympathies for neo-Nazis, the second is a well-known ultra-right activist.

The article also mentions five members of a local neo-Nazi group arrested in Italy that had operational ties to the Azov Battalion* (banned in Russia). According to the author, the group stockpiled weapons, ammunition, tactical equipment and planned terrorist attacks.

According to an investigation by the Center for Combating Terrorism at the West Point Military Academy, cited in the publication, Ukraine has a special attraction for supporters of far-right movements from Europe and the United States.

“The total number of domestic and foreign fascist fighters in Ukraine is unknown, but it is probably high,” the article says.

The journalist also draws attention to the fact that the resources of the West to support Ukraine are running out, and not many people share confidence in the successful completion of the counteroffensive. All this, according to Clarenberg, will lead to the fact that the West will be forced to put pressure on Ukraine to start peace negotiations. And along with the end of hostilities, neo-Nazis who have gained experience in hostilities will begin to return to their homeland, the author is sure.

“They will bring with them combat experience and, in many cases, elite Western military training. High-quality weapons and ammunition will be available in abundance on the black market due to the massive arms shipments to Kyiv during the conflict,” Klarenberg concludes.
