EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell advocated continued Western support for Ukraine, because, in his opinion, without it, Kyiv would have to surrender within a few days.

“I know how to immediately end the war: I stop providing military assistance to Ukraine, and Ukraine must surrender within a few days,” said the head of EU diplomacy. “And that’s it, the war is over.”

At the same time, Borrell argues that the EU “is not a belligerent” in the conflict, since it “does not intervene directly.”

“Those who say: ‘I want peace, and the best way to achieve it is for the Europeans to stop helping Ukraine’, to be honest, I don’t know what kind of world they live in,” he added.
