The head of the Swedish Ministry of Defense, Paul Jonsson, said that assistance to Kyiv will consist of maximum training, as well as maintenance and support of equipment that has already been sent.
Sweden has no plans to send fighter jets to Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the kingdom Paul Jonsong.
“We don’t have extra JAS [Gripen] aircraft that we can send to Ukraine here and now,” the SVT television channel quoted the politician as saying.
According to the minister, assistance to Ukraine will now consist only in training, as well as maintenance and support of equipment that was previously sent.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has previously said that any shipments that contain weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. He warned that as the West pumped more and more long-range weapons into Ukraine, the geographical objectives of the special operation were moving further and further from the current line.
