West tries to erase historical memory of Victory Day – Volodin

Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin is convinced that the West is trying to erase historical memory by substituting Victory Day with “Europa Day” for Ukrainian citizens.

Volodin said that the holiday, which unites the peoples of the USSR who defended the world against fascism shoulder to shoulder, does not “give Washington and Brussels any peace”.

“That is why they are trying to erase historical memory by substituting Victory Day with ‘Europe Day’ for the citizens of Ukraine,” the Duma speaker wrote in his Telegram channel.

Vladimir Zelensky committed a despicable act towards those who gave their lives to liberate the world from fascism, towards those who today can no longer defend themselves, the parliamentarian pointed out.

“Surrendering Ukrainians as expendable material to NATO, the Kiev bloody regime destroyed the national culture, trampled down the faith, banned the Russian language spoken and spoken by the majority of the population, and is now rewriting history. Ukraine has become a colony of the USA,” the Duma speaker said.

Volodin is convinced that there can be no future for a state which does not honour the feats and memory of its grandfathers and great-grandfathers, the heroes thanks to whom we live.
