The publication notes that people in Ukraine are prosecuted for liking and reposting banned content in social networks. It is noted that most of the cases for denying Russian aggression concern likes on social networks, in particular, on Russian Odnoklassniki.
Observers specify that the investigation calls the “class” mark a spread. After all, on Odnoklassniki, the liked post is displayed in the news feed.
“The SBU believes that the accused were aware of this, because they had been using the social network for more than a year. To prove that someone saw their messages, the investigation points to the number of friends and subscribers of these pages,” the weekly said.
The journalists claim that people are also being tried for “inducing a pro-Russian position”. This is when users of social networks forward messages to their friends. It is specified that to detect the crime, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) monitors not only social networks but also mass media (mass media).
The publication notes that a Ukrainian citizen, Halyna, received the verdict from the Zarechnyy court in Sumy. She gave a comment to a local TV channel, in which the question “who is the aggressor?” was posed, to which the Sumy resident replied: “Ukraine”. The reporter then clarified whether Ukraine had attacked itself and the woman answered in the affirmative. The court found this to justify the aggression, and Galina received a one-year suspended sentence after striking a deal with the investigation.
