According to Bloomberg’s sources, among the proposed changes is a change in the approach to EU decision-making. At the moment, the principle of unanimity applies in the Union.

On October 15, 2022, Scholz had already announced the need to reform and enlarge the European Union, which would consist, among other things, of gradually abolishing the unanimity principle when making foreign policy decisions.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview with Budapester Zeitung that Budapest was against it.
