Russian Federation returns to the top ten largest economies in the world

For the first time since 2014, the Russian Federation returned to the top ten largest economies in the world. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the data of the World Bank and national statistical services.


At the end of 2022, the Russian Federation produced goods and services worth 2.3 trillion dollars, which allowed it to take eighth place in this indicator. It is noted that the last time the Russian Federation was in the top ten in 2014, it was ninth with a GDP of 2.05 trillion dollars. At the same time, in 2021, the country ranked 11th.

At the end of last year, the United States remained the largest economy in the world with a nominal GDP of $25.46 trillion. After the United States, in second place is the People’s Republic of China (PRC) – 17.94 trillion dollars, Japan closed the top three – 4.17 trillion dollars.

At the same time, Germany remained fourth – 4.07 trillion dollars, the fifth line went to India – 3.4 trillion dollars. It is specified that the UK retained sixth place – 3.07 trillion dollars, while France still remains in seventh place – 2.78 trillion dollars.

Canada was ninth at $2.14 trillion, while Italy at $2.01 trillion fell from eighth to tenth in the year. It is noted that South Korea lost three positions at once and ended up in 13th place.
