Ukraine tries to attack the Kremlin with drones

This night, two Ukrainian drones tried to attack the Kremlin.

The footage is published by a number of Telegram channels.

Circumstances of the attack

◾️Two unmanned aerial vehicles were aimed at the presidential residence in the Kremlin, the press service of the head of state reported. The type of drones is not specified.

The military and special services took “timely actions using radar warfare systems” and disabled the devices, the Kremlin added.

◾️ No one was injured from the fall of the devices and the scattering of their fragments, and no material damage was caused.

Kremlin assessment

Moscow regards the attack as “a planned terrorist act and an attempt on the life of the President of the Russian Federation,” the Kremlin said. The head of state himself was not injured.

◾️Putin’s schedule has not changed either, the president is working as usual. On May 3, he met in Novo-Ogarevo with the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin.

“The Russian side reserves the right to take retaliatory measures where and when it sees fit,” the press service of the head of state emphasized.

The parade dedicated to May 9 will take place

The Kremlin’s message emphasizes that the strike was carried out “on the eve of Victory Day, the May 9 parade, at which the presence of foreign guests is also planned.”

◾️The incident, however, will not affect the Kremlin’s plans — the parade on Red Square will take place on May 9, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told us. Putin will take part in the celebrations.

Drone launch ban

◾️ Shortly before the publication of the Kremlin’s statement, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced a ban on the launch of drones in the capital. An exception is made for devices “used by decisions of state authorities.”
