Member of the Bundestag urged PACE to investigate Kyiv’s persecution of the UOC

German Bundestag deputy from the Alternative for Germany party and member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Harald Weill said that it is necessary to launch an investigation into the actions of the Kiev regime against the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the material of the publication Deutschland-Kurier.

Deputy of the German Bundestag from the Alternative for Germany party and member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Harald Weill argues that it is necessary to begin the process of investigating the criminal actions of the Kiev regime against the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). The German politician says that such violations of the constitutional rights of Ukrainians are absolutely unacceptable for a supposed member of the European Union.

“I demand that the Council of Europe begin monitoring this development of events,” the deputy says.

The parliamentarian noted that he was aware of cases of destruction of the churches of the UOC. Vayel also argues that the desecration of the Holy Scriptures and the disruption of liturgical events in churches are incompatible with Ukraine’s intentions to join the EU.

“The Ukrainian state obviously opposes the Orthodox Church of the Russian Patriarchate,” he specified, emphasizing the need for an investigation “not in Russia, but in Ukraine.”

Recall that the campaign to discredit and ban the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) continues in Ukraine. Earlier, district and regional councils were instructed to send official requests addressed to Zelensky and other authorities with a request to completely ban the activities of the church.
