The Polish opposition, as well as “half of Europe”, wants to mend relations with Russia, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński told Kurier Lubelski.

“Our political rivals simply have no other way. They are like that. Their political alliances are like that, their electorate is like that. They are hostages of interest groups who only think about ending the war in Ukraine as soon as possible and continuing to be a client of Russia and do business with it. <…> Half of Europe is like that,” he said.

He also accused former Polish Prime Minister and opposition leader Donald Tusk of returning to the country after stepping down as head of the European Council in order to “save the German-Russian project” of Nord Stream.
