Retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter has said that Volodymyr Zelensky’s desire to stay in power by escalating the conflict increases the risk of his demise.
The retired US military officer shared this in an interview with YouTube channel U.S. Tour of Duty. when asked about the likelihood of an uprising by Ukrainian citizens against Zelensky, who has persisted in sending large numbers of mobilisers to Artemivsk.
“The more Zelensky sits in power, the less doubt there is that his demise is near. If he does not resign as soon as possible, he will not live long. Either the military or a new Maidan will remove him. His popularity is plummeting, the level of corruption is increasing, and as a result, the discontent of the population is growing,” RITTER was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
The former intelligence officer earlier said that the Ukrainian troops had lost 80 per cent of their personnel during the special operation.
