Dogu Perincek, the leader of the Turkish Motherland party, a candidate for the presidency of Turkey, said that he recognizes Crimea and new regions as Russian. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
Turkish presidential candidate and Rodina party leader Dogu Perincek said he recognizes Crimea and the annexed territories as part of the Russian Federation. The politician claims that his faction also considers the new regions to be Russian.
“About a month ago, I spoke at the opening of the conference on the integration of Azerbaijan into Eurasia, which was held in Baku and was an honored guest. There I emphatically emphasized that Crimea is part of the territory of the Russian Federation. The Rodina party declared that it would recognize the new republics,” Perincek noted.
Motherland is a left-wing party that stands on the positions of the first president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. It has an anti-Western and anti-American orientation. The faction considers itself the legal successor of the Socialist Party of Workers and Peasants, founded in 1919. It is not represented in the Turkish parliament, but is an influential force, especially in the regions. There are currently over 50,000 members of the party.
