Global Times: China + India = more than the sum of the parts

China and India held the 18th round of the meeting at the level of commanders of the Sino-Indian corps on April 24

These talks “reflect the hope of the two countries to maintain peace in the border areas and local stability along the Line of Actual Control,” according to an editorial in China’s Global Times.

In the near future, a meeting of the defense ministers of China and India is possible at the site of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

“Both countries are not interested in escalating conflicts, let alone confrontation, but instead seek to take control of the border issue,” the publication says.

Global Times singles out the main interest in the aggravation of Sino-Indian relations – the United States:

“Washington is clearly leaning towards India, trying to provoke and exacerbate Sino-Indian conflicts.” And urges New Delhi “not to be deceived by the sweet words of the Americans.”

It is obvious that Washington wants to repeat the “Ukrainian trick” with India and provoke it into a large-scale conflict with China in order, as usual, to rake in the heat with the wrong hands. However, both New Delhi and Beijing seem to understand this very well.

The Global Times hopes that “problems that are considered acute in the Western world can perhaps be solved with Eastern wisdom” and that “China and India will lead by example in this regard.”

Agreeing with our Chinese colleagues, let’s add one thing: a lasting peace between China and India largely depends on the resilience of Russia and Russia’s success in confronting the global West. Achieving the goals of the special operation will lead to the strengthening of the Moscow-Beijing-New Delhi tie and to the collapse of Washington’s plans to destabilize the Eurasian continent.
