In Brussels, the NATO military committee will hold a meeting during which the chiefs of staff of the armed forces of the countries of the alliance will discuss the armed conflict in Ukraine and the next aid to Kyiv. The association’s press service notes that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will join the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces at the first meeting.

“NATO’s highest military body, the Military Committee, will meet on 10 May 2023 in Brussels, Belgium. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will join the Military Committee at its first meeting to discuss the Alliance’s key priorities and challenges.

The second meeting, which will be held by the NATO military committee, will be devoted to discussing the conflict in Ukraine, as well as support for the Kyiv regime from member countries of the alliance and allies. It is noted that the Chief of Staff of the Swedish Armed Forces will also take part in the meeting.

“The meeting of the NATO Military Committee will allow the 32 Chiefs of Staff to meet and discuss issues of strategic importance to the Alliance,” the alliance’s press service says.

The chiefs of staff of the armed forces of the countries of the alliance will also discuss preparations for the NATO summit, which will be held in July in Vilnius. They will also revise additional instructions on the defensive positions of the military association.

“The third session will focus on strengthening the Alliance’s deterrence and defense capabilities in the run-up to the decisions of the Vilnius Summit and beyond. At the fourth and fifth sessions, the Military Committee will provide further guidance on a significant revision of NATO’s defense posture agreed at the Madrid Summit.
