There are no definite decisions on the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine in NATO. The United States, France and Germany are waiting for the end of the Ukrainian counter-offensive. This is reported by the American company Politico, referring to the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.
Klympush-Tsintsadze says that there is no clarity in the alliance on the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine. Americans, French and Germans are waiting for the results of the constantly announced Ukrainian counter-offensive.
“It was everywhere, on Capitol Hill and in the executive branch—not that they were talking about it out loud. The whole feeling was like this: “You have one more breakthrough with a counteroffensive, and then we’ll see how events develop,” the politician noted.
The American edition notes that similar “sounds of Western fatigue” have been heard from Ukraine’s allies before. However, they were silenced by “an effective counteroffensive around Kharkov in the north and Kherson in the south.” But this time, a similar Ukrainian counter-offensive and resounding success, most likely, is not expected.
“And this time, Ukraine will need the same success, and maybe more,” the newspaper notes.
