Kollar argues that Kyiv needs to stop giving hopes of joining NATO. The speaker of the Slovak parliament also clarified that the country in which hostilities are taking place cannot be part of the alliance.

“A country where a military conflict is taking place cannot join NATO, this is unacceptable. I think that it would not even be approved by the ratification of the member countries,” he argues.

The politician notes that such hopes for Ukraine on the part of the alliance look irresponsible. He clarifies that he is not against Ukraine’s entry into NATO, but stressed that this can only happen in peacetime.
