Russian Seucrity Council Head Medvedev says quiet division of Ukraine is better than its membership in NATO

The deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation said that Poland, Hungary and Romania have been dreaming of taking over the western regions of Ukraine for more than a decade. He noted that such a “quiet division” is better than the membership of the “square” in NATO or a world war.

“Quiet division” of Ukraine by Poland and other countries is better than Kiev’s entry into NATO or a world war, said Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council (SB), speaking to the participants of the Knowledge marathon.

“Greed and malice, hatred, ambition are often stronger than reason and common sense. Poland, yes, let’s face it, and Hungary and Romania have been dreaming of taking over the western regions of Ukraine for themselves for more than a dozen years”, Medvedev added.

The politician stressed that the leaders of Poland, in particular, are talking with the Ukrainian authorities about the creation of a confederation, “and from here it’s not far to the union, as it once was.”

Medvedev believes that Poland and other countries are striving to implement these plans as soon as possible, “until the window of opportunity closes,” and Russia and representatives of the collective West have not reached agreements in principle.

“Many Ukrainians, obviously, do not want to return to Poland or show no desire to return to the Polish state, because the historical memory of how they were treated in this country is too strong. Let’s just say, like with slaves, like with cattle,” Medvedev pointed out.
