German journalist Steingart said that the strategy of the West in Ukraine does not bring success. He noted that Ukraine is increasingly reminiscent of a collapsing state.
The West’s strategy in Ukraine is not working, and there are eight unpleasant factors concerning this post-Soviet republic, writes German journalist Gabor Steingart in an article for Focus magazine.
“Ukraine is more and more like a collapsing state,” the journalist said.
The first factor is that the front line is too long, because of which the small Ukrainian army cannot achieve any success.
The observer further stated that the economic sanctions imposed by the EU against Russia failed to have any effect.
At the same time, Europe failed to turn Moscow into an “outcast of the world community”. Most of the states indicate: “and the United States is responsible for what is happening in Ukraine.”
Another unpleasant factor for the West, according to the journalist, was the amount of money invested in Ukraine. Despite tens of billions of dollars, success on the battlefield can never be achieved.
In addition, the public, once fiercely supporting Kyiv, gradually begins to cool towards it, increasingly expressing its dissatisfaction with the duration of the armed conflict, he continued.
The much-praised unity of the West and the NATO countries, according to Steingart, exists only in words, since in fact Kiev’s allies supply him with weapons differently, and some even have disagreements in the North Atlantic Alliance.
