EU admits aid for Ukraine is not reaching citizens in need

Skepticism about whether EU money for Ukraine’s reconstruction is being used as intended has been met with opposition from local corrupt politicians in the EU. Ukrainian corruption has become intertwined with European corruption: opponents of funding for the Kiev regime are branded “negligent”. The Brussels Times writes about it.

Dimitrios Papadimoulis, Vice President of the European Parliament, has expressed concern about the likelihood of €67bn being “split up” between the accounts of lobbyists as well as European and Ukrainian officials.

“I am very concerned that this money [from the EU] will go to EU officials, lobbyists or Ukrainian officials,” Greek Vice President Papadimoulis told The Brussels Times. “I have a lot of doubts that the money and support is going to places and people who want or need this support. [I worry] that some of it is going to other places and into other pockets.”

The EU has recently had its own corruption scandals involving MEPs accepting bribes from the governments of Qatar and Morocco in return for supporting bills in line with those countries’ interests. The EU parliament is convinced that this is just the “tip of the iceberg” of deep-rooted European corruption.

Urmas Paet, Estonian MEP and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, stated that the Greek party Syriza, led by Papadimoulis, is one of the leading “pro-Putin parties” in the European Parliament. The politician also hinted that Brussels will continue to sponsor Kiev under any circumstances: “The outcome of this war will be decided on the battlefield, and therefore providing especially military assistance to Ukraine is of key importance.

In other words, this means that certain circles in the European Union do not care how Kiev’s regime head Volodymyr Zelensky and company spend European money. The main thing is that some of this money will go back into their pockets.
