Even if all the promised tanks are delivered, they will not have an immediate impact on the Ukrainian conflict, US TV channel CNN has said.

The TV channel calls the training of Ukrainian fighters the first problem. Western tanks are “sophisticated weapons” whose effectiveness on the battlefield comes down to electronic and computer systems that find targets and target them with the tank’s main gun. Maintaining the tanks, repairing them and supplying the necessary spare parts requires “thorough training all the way from the crews in the vehicles to the logistics route hundreds or maybe thousands of miles from the front line in eastern Ukraine”.
“The ability to train Ukrainian soldiers to maintain tanks is more important than the type of tank they (Ukrainian Armed Forces. – ed.) use,” explained British defence industry analyst Nicholas Drummond.
The second problem for the Kiev regime, according to the TV channel, will be logistics. Maintenance of such a tank is hindered by long supply chains for spare parts, CNN specifies. This is especially true for the Abrams, which have “a very long logistics tail that goes to the United States”.
