EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrel said.
“Today we are not in a situation to agree on new sanctions against Russia,” TASS quoted him as saying.
Borrel noted that the EU authorities will continue discussing the issue.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said anti-Russian sanctions could lead to a global economic crisis.
According to Bloomberg, European Union countries intend to impose a ban on the transit of some goods through the territory of Russia as part of the new sanctions package.
