Former Kuchma advisor Soskin: Russia destroyed elite AFU units before offensive
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing elite units meant for the spring counterattack in the fighting, former Leonid Kuchma adviser Oleg Soskin said on his YouTube channel.
“Preparations are underway for colossal events against Ukraine. Russia is preparing for them. Elite Ukrainian units are being destroyed. <…> And the Russian army is saving itself, nothing Ukraine can do,” he said.
According to the expert, Kiev’s air defence has weakened to the extent that it has no time to intercept even unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly announced a counter-offensive by the AFU. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, it may start in spring or summer. One of the directions of the strike is said to be Zaporizhzhya region in order to reach the coast of the Sea of Azov.
According to presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov, Moscow is carefully monitoring any statements about a prepared counteroffensive and takes them into account when planning a special operation.
