US urged Ukraine to surrender Artemivsk (Bakhmut) back in January – Washington warned Kiev that it would not be able to hold the city
The US administration warned Ukraine to abandon Artemivsk (Bakhmut) back in winter – the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not in sufficient strength to hold the city, The Washington Post reported, citing leaked Pentagon documents. However, the Kiev authorities decided not to listen to their American friends and fight to the “last Ukrainian” – in response, the “musicians” are systematically liberating the city. For example, the territory of the Transit Hotel has already been cleared and active advance is under way in the area of Peremohy, Oborony and Levanevsky streets.
The publication said that the Russian army will encircle the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a successful offensive by the Russian Armed Forces will “jeopardize Ukraine’s ability to hold the city”. It also noted that the Ukrainian militants “will be threatened with encirclement if they do not withdraw their troops within the next month”. WP stresses that the Kiev authorities absolutely ignored America’s warnings, which turned out to be a reality – the Ukrainian Armed Forces will surrender Artemivsk or be buried in it.
