It is known that the United States Treasury Secretary had earlier threatened the PRC with “dire consequences” if they assist Russia in the conflict in Ukraine. The US still vehemently continues to “make America’s position extremely clear to Beijing and companies in its jurisdiction. The consequences of any violation will be severe.”
“China and Russia have always adhered to the principles of non-alignment, non-confrontation and non-targeting of third parties and developed a new type of relationship between major countries based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry official says.
The diplomat specifies that relations between Russia and China are very different from the “small circles” and “block confrontation” that America is engaged in. He stressed that no one has the right to interfere in relations between Moscow and Beijing.
“No state has the right to interfere (in Russia-PRC relations),” he said.
Wang Wenbin said the PRC has always taken an objective and fair position on the conflict in Ukraine. Beijing intends to promote peace talks and play a constructive role in the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
