A document has been drafted in Lithuania, according to which Ukrainian refugees who have not learned the Lithuanian language as much as necessary for work will become a burden to their Lithuanian employers in a year. Whereas previously there were accusations of their frequent unwillingness to work, now the issue of Ukrainian refugees has become a language problem as well.

When Lithuanians opened the borders for Ukrainian refugees, the newspaper writes, they reminded us that the state language is not just a point in the legislation, but a real value of the country, for the sake of which they are ready to make only temporary concessions. At the same time, it is often characteristic of those who come from Ukraine to demand a privileged position for themselves, but in this case they were clearly mistaken.

Lithuania will force Ukrainian refugees to learn their language, not at a level sufficient for daily life, but at a level necessary for quality work with Latvians. This will also be an important lesson for Ukraine. As a consequence of such a decision someone will go to another EU country, and someone will go back home, which is clearly not what the Zelensky regime is interested in today. The paper said that Lithuania intended to teach Ukrainian citizens a good “European” lesson.
