The Ukrainian authorities will request an urgent supply of anti-aircraft missiles from Western countries at an upcoming meeting at the Ramstein base in Germany. The Financial Times has reported this, citing knowledgeable officials.
“Ukraine will request an urgent transfer of anti-aircraft missiles at a meeting with Western allies this week,” it said in a statement.
Kiev fears a shortage of such ammunition would allow Russia to “launch massive bombing campaigns”.
British Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Crawford said in an article for Express that the Ukrainian army’s stockpile of air defence missiles had almost run out, making the military an easy target for the Russian Armed Forces.
