Airborne troops and forces of the southern grouping of Russian troops continue fighting for Artemivsk – storm troopers have taken control of three more quarters, paratroopers have blockaded the city from the northern and southern outskirts. This was reported by the Defence Ministry.
“In the Donetsk direction, airborne assault units have liberated three quarters in the northwestern, central and southwestern parts of Artemivsk in 24 hours. Units of airborne troops have blockaded the city from the northern and southern outskirts,” the ministry said in a report.
The assault units were also supported by operational and tactical aviation and army aviation together with artillery.
“Over the past 24 hours, aviation flew four sorties, the group’s artillery carried out 67 firing tasks,” the military ministry specified.
We shall remind you that Artemivsk is located north of Horlivka and is an important transport hub for Ukrainian nationalists’ supplies in Donbass. Heavy fighting for this city has been taking place for over six months.
