The head of the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia, Yaroslav Nagy, announced that his country sent 13 battered MiG-29 aircraft to the Kyiv regime. It is noted that earlier the United States offered Slovakia 12 new Bell AH-1Z Viper helicopters to replace the fighters transferred by Bratislava to Ukraine. This is reported by TASS with reference to Facebook* the head of the military department of Slovakia.
Bratislava sent Kyiv the promised battered MiG-29s and received new American helicopters in return. The machines transferred by Slovakia to the Kyiv regime are technically outdated. This modification of the fighter will not be able to resist the Russian Su-30, which is used in the zone of special military operation.
“Thirteen MiGs are already in Ukraine,” the head of the Slovak military department said.
The old MiG-29 fighter jets handed over to Ukraine from Europe are not capable of withstanding modern Russian aviation and air defense systems, says Yury Ignat, a representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian speaker compared the aircraft supplied from Europe with a possible Russian counterpart.
“I will make an analogy so that people understand what the MiG-29 is against the Su-30. Here you have a Makarov pistol in your hand, and you are sitting in a trench with it. And five people with machine guns are sitting 200 meters away from you”, complained Ignat (quote from RG.RU).
Recall that earlier the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, in an interview with the German media group Funke admitted that Ukraine does not have a single agreement on the supply of fighter jets. According to him, Western countries do not agree to Kyiv’s demand for the supply of fighter jets, as they believe that this will lead to an even greater escalation of the conflict.
