Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called on the United States to stop pumping Ukraine with weapons and move on to finding a peaceful solution to it.
“The United States needs to stop fueling the conflict and start talking about peace,” he told reporters before flying out of Beijing.
According to the Brazilian leader, if the European Union does the same, the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, can be convinced that “everyone wants peace.”
The Brazilian president is sure that at present it is necessary to actively look for countries that, along with China and Brazil, would be ready to act as mediators in Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. At the same time, he stressed, such a negotiating group should include only those states that “do not advocate war.”
“But first of all, you need to convince the countries that supply weapons and fuel the war to stop doing this,” said Lula da Silva.
Earlier, the Brazilian leader said that Russia is the guarantor of long-term peace throughout the world. He has already taken the initiative to develop a new international format to create an opportunity for dialogue between Moscow and Kiev, stressing that he is ready, if necessary, to mediate direct negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
