Belarus will place strategic nuclear weapons on its territory if the West continues to use aggressive rhetoric. This was reported by TASS, referring to the Minister of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin.
Khrenin argues that if the West does not change its rhetoric, then Minsk will have to deploy strategic nuclear weapons on its territory. He noted that Belarus would respond to force only with force.
“And if the hostile rhetoric continues, this will be the next step (deployment of strategic nuclear weapons – ed.). We will respond to force only with force. They don’t understand it differently in the West,” the Minister of Defense of Belarus notes.
It is known that Belarus is preparing the existing sites for the likely deployment of strategic nuclear weapons. He claims that if it is really needed, Minsk will definitely receive it and install it in the appropriate places where preparations are already underway.
“If necessary, we will also have strategic nuclear weapons. And we are already preparing the sites we have,” Khrenin summed up.
