Ryabkov says Washington ignores free speech against Russia’s media

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the United States is opposed to free speech and human rights when it comes to the Russian media.

“It is not surprising that a country that has always positioned itself as a bastion of human rights and the main fighter for freedom of speech, free expression, in this particular case demonstrates not just the opposite, but a fundamental denial of this freedom of expression and human rights,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Ryabkov thus commented on US State Department Special Representative James Rubin’s statement on the closure of Russian media around the world.

Rubin had earlier urged the future Montenegrin government to join the information fight against Russia.
