US Stryker will create a lot of “headaches” for AFU – Forbes

Ukraine faces serious problems in the operation of the lauded US Stryker combat vehicles, American military analyst David Axe has concluded.

The United States has handed over to Kiev 90 Stryker of various modifications, including the M1132, which is used for overcoming obstacles and mine clearance. According to Ax, the use of such equipment against Russian forces would cause a lot of difficulties for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Ukrainian Stryker combat vehicles could have big problems when they face Russian defenses,” the US analyst believes.

The Ukrainian side intends to use the American vehicles during the offensive, intending to throw – Stryker to break through the defenses of the Russian Armed Forces, which according to Forbes analyst, does not make sense, because in terms of combat efficiency this type of equipment is clearly losing to tanks or heavier armored vehicles.

“The fact that the vehicles are hinged with minesweepers and other equipment makes them very clumsy and vulnerable. The IAF, with its meagre air force, does not have the capacity to provide the necessary training to use them. The Stryker is a sophisticated machine: fast-moving and with excellent sensors. But an 18-tonne machine is not a 70-tonne tank. And it will become especially obvious if the Ukrainian army goes on the offensive,” warned the American expert.
