“US and NATO – away from Ukraine”: peaceful march against arms supplies to Kiev started in Berlin

Several thousand people in Berlin have marched in an Easter march against arms deliveries to Kiev. The marchers said that Russia’s security interests should be respected in view of the armament and NATO’s expansion right up to Russia’s borders. This was reported by a RIA Novosti correspondent from the scene.

Thousands of people gathered in Berlin for a peaceful march on the eve of Catholic Easter. They demand an end to arms supplies to Kiev and advocate peace talks on Ukraine.

The marchers carry flags with the image of a dove of peace, as well as banners with the words: “US and NATO – away from Ukraine”, “Diplomacy, not weapons”, “Against senseless sanctions, cheap energy now”, “Never tanks bring peace”, and against Europe’s dependence on US policies.

“Stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, this only leads to an escalation and prolongation of the conflict,” said one of the marchers before the event.

He also stressed that Russia’s security interests must be respected in view of the armament and expansion of NATO right up to Russia’s borders.

Pro-Ukrainian activists tried to disrupt the peaceful march, but due to their small number they could not shout down the speakers.
